More Progress

I have worked on the top section to make it resemble more of a building than an amusement park! I have started to incorporate a repairs room and wash room, as well as the room where the motorcycles will be displayed (in glass spikes). There is a new stair case that goes down to the work room. The 'death ramp' is linked to the repairs room so that motorcycles can directly transported there.

I have also developed the staircase in the bottom level to incorporate a railing. I think that the small separate rooms make it seem more 'mysterious' as opposed to a more open plan building, which was my chosen adjective for this layer.

Sketches, stairs and 5 functions + video

I have developed 2 images representing the different sections and how each room will function to reflect the five things that the client's will need to do in their buildings:

Heston

1 cook
2 show
3 eat
4 wash
5 grow/harvest

There will also need to be a way to collect deliveries.

This is the bottom section and expands on the bubbly 'mysterious' design that I originally chose to work on. There is a spiral staircase that twirls down from the top in an ice cream cone shape.

I have started to develop this staircase in sketchup.

Revival Cycles

1 drive/test
2 repair
3 wash
4 store
5 showcase

This expands on the top section. I have started to develop the top ramp/lethal road track.

Finally, a youtube video about materials! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBWdR-potKY

Sketchup

I have started to develop a sketchup model based on this image, using the verb 'shock' (Revival Cycles) as the top layer and adjective 'mysterious' (Heston Blumenthal) as the bottom layer.

It is only a start, however it has been a useful exercise in familiarising myself with sketchup's functions.

Sketches

Here are my 18 sketches (with 2 extra).

A beautiful photo

This is a photo I took on the plane from Sydney to Honolulu, Hawaii. The world truly does look beautiful from up there. I was tossing up about whether I should choose a photo of a delicious cheesecake we had for my dad's 50th, because that was a pretty beautiful cake. But I decided on this one because it's not often you see the world from above the clouds.

A Great Piece of Architecture

I chose this image because I love the story behind its construction. It's located in France and it was designed and built by Cheval.

Apparently one day he tripped on a stone and was intrigued by its unique shape. Throughout the next 33 years he would collect stones and go back to that same spot to build his unique palace. Such dedication is inspiring.

He eventually finished the building in 1923, the year before his death.

I love weird buildings and am a fan of all of the buildings listed on this website: http://www.strangebuildings.com/top50/
