Exp 3 - inspiration
I find these bridges fascinating and would love to incorporate aspects of each into my design.
This image is obviously not a bridge, however a tall structure that could support vertical gardens. I have presented it on its side as I think that this could be an interesting manipulation to incorporate into my design and concept.

The two concepts:
Minimal skin and bones framework to reveal the individual character (Mies Van Der Rohe) + Focus on landscape and the public realm (Natalie De Vries).
Electroliquid Aggregation Concept:
Individual character is achieved through a skeletal framework and focus on the public realm.
The 18 axonometrics:
The dark texture is in full view - this is the back of the lift shaft.
Here we can see the floral texture of the table.
A small town can be seen across the lake. The site is accessed via train.
The slide from the curved (Natalie De Vries) monument is similar to a spine and gives the site a unique quality.

The Landform

The lift shaft leads into an underground room which is surrounded by water.
The Image Captures and the Architecture
The skeletal framework of the bridge leaves plenty of open space to cater for a public domain.
The slide from the curved (Natalie De Vries) monument is similar to a spine and gives the site a unique quality.
The glass walls as well as the view of the small town emphasise the public nature of the building. The inclusion of a table with no chairs in the meeting room allows students to congregate around a central place and encourages them to interact with each other.

Sketchup warehouse: Despite purging my model and eliminating all materials, I can't get my file size under 50MB so I can't share it on the 3D warehouse. I will try to counter this problem soon. Here is an image of the final file:

36 textures
I was influenced by both architects when composing the textures, as depicted in the following images.
I would also like to include the barcode texture as evident in MVRDV's work.

Shapes combined in sketchup and lumion
I have combined the shapes in both sketchup and lumion.
I firstly worked on a series of drafts whilst experimenting with Artisan:
A lift, staircase and spiral slide is used to navigate the monuments. The space in between is covered by a series of arcs which have a skeletal quality to them.
Here I will recall the definition of an Electroliquid Aggregation from the lecture:
“Why still speak of the real and the virtual, the material and immaterial? Here these categories are not in opposition, or in some metaphysical disagreement, but more in an electroliquid aggregation, enforcing each other, as in a two part adhesive.”
Lars Spuybroek, [1998] Motor Geometry, Architectural Design, Vol 68 No 5/6, p5
I am combining the concepts: Minimal skin and bones framework to reveal the individual character (Mies Van Der Rohe) + Focus on urban landscape and the public realm (MVRDV).
Fused these form the overarching concept: Individual character is achieved through a skeletal framework and focus on the public realm.
The shape is shown in lumion.
